Malkajgiri: In a move intended to be a slap in the face of the civic body staff, several residents of the Prem Vijaynagar Colony, Mirjalguda, themselves took up road repair works on Sunday, holding crowbars and baskets. The reason: their repeated pleas to the staff to complete the road have fallen on deaf ears.
The residents including employees were upset with the officials concerned and local leaders for their negligent attitude to complete the road repair works during the last five years. They had been facing severe hardship, particularly vehicle-users, because of the incomplete road. The residents told The Hans India that the staff had drainage pipe line but forgot to lay a proper road.
When their patience wore out, they took up the task of filling the incomplete road with mud. They said they were forced to take up the work themselves as the officials did not respond to the repeated complaints. The colony residents have urged officials and the local corporator to respond to appeals and help solve the road problems.
