Following 100-yr-old tradition, villagers leave en masse for Tirupati

Kondamallepally (Nalgonda): As part of age-old practice, as many as 150 residents of Buddoni Thanda of Chinna Adisharlapally gram panchayat of Kondamallepally mandal left for Tirupati on Monday.
Vice-Sarpanch Mangya Naik informed the media that following the footsteps of ancestors, starting from first no-moon day of Magha Masam of every year all villagers will take up nine-day deeksha and observe fasting and leave for Tirupati to have the darshan of Lord Venkateswara Swamy of Tirumala. He further informed that it is a 100-year-old tradition which the Thanda habitants have been following.
