Stage set for Vasantha Panchami celebrations

Basara: Basara Temple Committee has made elaborate arrangements for the celebrations of Vasantha Panchami which will be organised on Sunday. Significantly, the birth anniversary of Goddess Sarawathi will be celebrated on Magha Shudha Panchami. On every Vasantha Panchami, Basara Temple would chockablock with devotees. For three days Sri Panchami is celebrated.

On Vasantha Panchami (Goddess’ birth anniversary) thousands of devotees comes from the neighbouring Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh States to offer prayers to the Goddess. Not only adults, during the festival Aksharabhyasam mandals will be teem with children, as the devotees believe that their kids begin formal educations here will succeed in higher studies. Expecting the huge throng of devotees during the festival, the temple officials have made special arrangements. They have set up set up special barricades for darshanam and Akshara Abhayasam. Temple officials, IIIT students, Mission Bhasara members have come forward to provide services to devotees.

Many donors have also chipped in to supply water pockets and milk and biscuits to devotees, kids who will stand in queues.

The Police department will deploy the special force at the railway station and bus stand and on the temple premises to prevent unwanted incidents under the supervisions of SP Shashidhar Raju and Bhainsa DSP Rajesh Bhalala. Security has been beefed up at the temple for the smooth conduct of the festival celebrations.
