Hyderabad: Hyderabad: TRS working president K T Rama Rao, who has been entrusted the responsibility of leading the party in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, will kickstart the party campaign from Karimnagar on March 1. The young leader and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s son KTR will hold a poll preparatory meeting with leaders from the rank of village sarpanch to MP and finalise the strategy to ensure the victory of TRS candidates by not less than 3 lakh vote majority in every Lok Sabha segment.
The TRS on Sunday released the schedule for the party’s preparatory meetings to chalk out the strategy. The preparatory meetings would be held from March 1 to 11 in all the 16 Lok Sabha constituencies. According to TRS leaders, about 15,000 workers including village president of the party, Rythu Samanvaya Samithi coordinators, MPTCs, general secretaries & secretaries, MLAs, MPs, former MPs and sarpanches would attend the meeting.
The party has asked the leaders to gather at least 2,000 workers from each of the Assembly constituency under the Lok Sabha segment and there would be 1,000 additional workers from the venue of the meeting.A TRS leader said that the district ministers would take the responsibility of the arrangements for the preparatory meetings. In districts, where there is no minister, the Chief Minister would coordinate with the senior leaders, said the TRS leader.
As per the schedule released by the party, the first meeting would be in Karimnagar at 10.30 am on March 1. There would be two meetings on March 2 at Warangal at 10.30 am and at Bhongir at 2.30 pm. On March 3, there would be two meetings -- one at Medak during morning and the other at Malkajgiri during evening. There would be no meeting on March 4 and 5 because of Maha Shivaratri festival.
The meetings would again start from March 6 at Wanaparthy for Nagarkurnool Lok Sabha in the morning and at Chevella during afternoon. Meetings in Nizamsagar for Zaheerabad LS and Secunderabad would be on March 7. There would be a meeting on March 9 at Ramagundam for Peddapally LS. There would be two meetings on March 10 at Mahabubabad and Khammam and on March 11 at Nalgonda and Mahbubnagar.
MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy said that the party has fixed a target of winning 16 out of 17 Lok Sabha seats with a majority of 3 lakh to 4 lakh votes in every segment. Reddy exuded confidence that the TRS would play a crucial role in the national politics by securing majority seats. "The NDA may not cross 200 seats and the Congress is not in a position to give tough fight and in this situation, the regional parties will have a big role at the Centre," he said.
