Tuesday was not just any other day. Messages of India’s strike into terror camps in Pakistan flew thick and fast right from the morning and people across the city gave vent to their feelings. Sudarshan Jishnu, a lawyer and resident of Central Excise Colony said, “It is the best decision taken by the country since independence. We have a Prime Minister who is decisive and is definite on what he wants.”
Echoing a similar sentiment, Brigadier Sashi Nair, VSM (retired), The Rajputana Rifles, who resides in Secunderabad, said, “When the occasion demands, there is no point of holding back. That is what our PM has done in no uncertain terms by assigning the forces to give a ‘Muh Thod Jawab’ after the Pulwama terror action. Retired Army and Air Force officers across the city have been vocal and have come out strongly. A retired Air Commodore who did not want to be quoted said, "The strike has been very beautifully -- and precisely done! It was long expected! Well done, IAF!"
“It was long overdue but Pulwama was the trigger,” said Wing Commander (retd) G D Bamboat sitting at his residence in Sainikpuri.
“India will await a Pakistan response to our action and if it comes, our forces will retaliate with more than adequate fire power and force. The level of Pakistan’s response will dictate the escalation level, and if it all comes, our forces will go hell for leather, even to the extent of going in for a full-scale war. The country should know that once you hand over the task to the defence services, there is no looking back because the forces are very highly trained, extremely professional and always waiting to be given the go ahead to strike,” roared Brigadier Sashi Nair.
“Der se hua par durust hua,” was the reaction of Lt Col R Bhaskar. He added, “Had this been done at least a decade ago the precious lives of scores of our jawans would have been saved. Kudos to the present Govt. who has done it. The selective attack has not targeted the Army or the civilian area but only the terror camps in the Pakistan occupied Kashmir is commendable. We are well within our rights on the action taken by us and without violating any international norms.”
