Hyderabad: American Oncology Institute (AOI), one of India’s leading chain of cancer hospitals founded by a team of cancer care experts from UPMC, Pittsburgh, USA in association with Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society of Hyderabad (OGSH) organised Gynaec Oncology CME and Workshop–2019 on Monday at the Auditorium of American Oncology Institute, Nallagandla. The conference was inaugurated by Senior most Gynaecologist in the City Dr Hemalatha Rangachary.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr M Babaiah, Medical Director, American Oncology Institute, Hyderabad & organising chairman, Gynaec Oncology CME & workshop, said, “Gynaecological cancers are among the most common cancers in women and hence an important public health issue. Due to lack of cancer awareness, variable pathology, most women report at advanced stages, adversely affecting the prognosis and clinical outcomes. Gynaec cancer can be preventable and curable.”
A day-long Gynaec Oncology CME and workshop witnessed a participation of around 200 doctors including reputed national faculty Gynaec Oncologists, Dr T S Shylasree, Head of the Department of Gynaecology, Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai and Dr V R Pallavi, Head of the Dept of Gynaecology, Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bengaluru under the theme ‘Enrich the endeavours in Gynaecological cancer care’.
The participants had an enriching experience with the keynote presentations, talks, Live Surgery workshops, various topics on Gynaec Oncology.
American Oncology Institute brings to its network of super specialty cancer hospitals in India and South Asia standardised cancer treatment protocols and pathways as followed in the leading oncology centers in the US. American Oncology Institute operates Comprehensive care centers in Hyderabad, Hyderabad South, Guntur, Vijayawada, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Hisar, Nagpur, Bhubaneswar and Sri Lanka is planning to open four more centers in the current year. American Oncology Institute plans to open 18-20 centers over a period of two years across multiple cities to provide International standards of cancer care across South Asia.
