Secunderabad: Not caring two hoots for danger caused by high-beam lights from heavy and light vehicles, many drivers never dim and dip lights for the benefit of approaching vehicles or road users. Such a scenario is very common across the capital city.

At Rathifile, Secunderabad, this issue is creating a big menace to the commuters. Because of the strong illumination of light from such vehicles, it is becoming very difficult to move to safe side.

T Radhya, a commuter, said many bus drivers as also the motorist ride vehicles by using high-beam lights without caring for others’ safety. She also said that it has become a daily affair for the commuters to face problems while traveling on this stretch during the night time. Reflection of beam lights obstructs vision and this can lead to accidents.

Earlier, motorists were required to put a black sticker or paint in black the center of the headlight panel to counterpoise the potency of light. Besides, the traffic police also used to conduct a night-checking drive against high-beam driving. Now-a-days, no one bothers to check them and it is becoming a nightmare for people to travel in this area.

The cameras which are installed near the signal at Rathifile for the surveillance purpose have to be made more use of so as to book the violators, demand road users.
