Taking for granted a kingmaker role for KCR post the General Election, TRS working president K T Rama Rao on Wednesday urged party workers to reach out to the people so that the party wins 16 LS seats, thus making it easy for the Federal Front led by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to decide who should be the next Prime Minister of the country
Karimnagar: Taking for granted a kingmaker role for KCR post the General Election, TRS working president K T Rama Rao on Wednesday urged party workers to reach out to the people so that the party wins 16 LS seats, thus making it easy for the Federal Front led by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to decide who should be the next Prime Minister of the country.
Launching at Karimnagar the party's constituency-level preparatory meetings for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Rama Rao asked people of Telangana to ensure the victory of the TRS in 16 Lok Sabha seats. He reasoned that, going by surveys, the BJP-NDA would not get even 150 seats, while the strength of the Congress would be limited to 100 or 110 seats.
“So, if you give us 16 seats, we have chance for new the Federal Front with 100 seats. All (non-Congress and non-BJP party leaders) are in touch with us," said Rao. Each MP will be crucial in having a favourable government at the Centre, he added. Lashing out at the national parties, KTR said, "Both Modi and Rahul are the same. One says Rafale and the other says Bofors. Both have done nothing."
KTR said that MPs in sizeable numbers would help in getting more projects to the state. He said, "Modi is the Prime Minister of the country, but bullet train is designed to run between Mumbai and Delhi via Gujarat. When Lalu Prasad Yadav was Railway Minister, he laid tracks to his mother-in-law’s house and TR Baalu took away road projects to Tamil Nadu," said KTR.
Rao recalled that KCR had requested the Prime Minister for according national project status to Kaleshwaram on the lines of Polavaram, but Modi did nothing beyond nodding his head. He said that during the 2014 elections there was an illusion that Narendra Modi would do something for the country but now it is slowly fading away as the BJP has been losing in successive elections.
He pointed out that Union Ministers appreciated the schemes of Telangana government but never gave any financial assistance. The TRS leader targeted the Congress leaders calling them 'Delhi ghulams'.These Congress leaders do whatever Congress president Rahul Gandhi says and even they go to Delhi for tickets. "People should decide whether they want Delhi ghulams or 'gulabis'.
Fix targets as per booth, convince non-TRS voters to vote for the party. Some of the Congress leaders also enjoyed our schemes, they will also vote for us," said KTR. Stating that KCR would decide the names of candidates, he asked party workers to work for the victory of the party. Rao said in the past there used to be a saying “West Bengal does today is followed by others”; however, today people say, “Whatever Telangana is doing is followed by others.”
