Govt issues orders on ZP & MPP formation

Vikarabad: The State government has issued orders regarding the formation of Zilla Parishads and Mandal Parishads for Vikarabad and Medak districts here on Thursday. In its orders, the government said that the office of ZP chairperson is reserved for women under the general category. There are 18 mandals in the district, out of which, nine come under ZPTCs and eight under MPPs.
Two seats are reserved for the Scheduled Tribes candidates, three for those falling under the BC category, four for the SCs and nine under the unreserved category. Bomraspet, Darur, Vikarabad, and Tandur ZPTC and MPP seats are reserved for women. The new Zilla Parishad body is expected to assume office by the first week of July this year.
The Zilla Parishad meetings will be conducted in the district headquarters of Vikarabad until a permanent building was constructed. The erstwhile Rangareddy district was divided into three districts and the ZP seat is reserved for women falling under the general category. The Medchal-Malkajgiri ZP chairperson’s post has been kept under the unreserved category.
