Charminar: Demanding that the authorities clear the air over their results, as almost two-third of second year students of Government Nizamia Tibbi College situated in Charminar were declared failed, the aggrieved students upped their ante and knocked on the doors of Department of Ayush situated in Abids.

According to students, the exams were held in the month of December and after the results were announced, it was found that as many as 45 students found to their utter shock their names missing from the list of students who have passed. Syed Musadiq, an UG second year student, wondered as to how the results were delayed. “It is a clear case of neglect on the part of government in managing the stream of medicine. Even the students who got distinction the previous year were failed. We learnt that there were technical problems and the principal passed on the buck, and hence we approached the Ayush department office,” he said.

The students claimed to have videos of the college administration threatening them with suspension, when they approached the principal and other faculty. “We not only lack infrastructure, but also faculty. It is unfortunate that some subjects are taught by unqualified candidates who got -7 (minus seven) marks in NEET. We demand that the government ensure proper faculty is at place,” said another student. As the Ayush Director was not available, Deputy Director P Srinivasa Rao assured the students to look into the matter, and take the issue to the notice of his higher-ups.
