I love doing pure comedies, says RaiLakshmi

Pretty actress Rai Lakshmi, who has done horror, action and love stories, okayed her upcoming Telugu film ‘Where is the Venkatalakshmi’ since its a laugh-riot. “I loved the script because it was fun-centric film loaded with pure comedy. I enjoyed doing it with a new team,” says the actress, who claims to be playing a teacher in the film. “I will not be teaching students in the movie, rather I would busy doing something else, albeit looking glamourous even in a saree,” she adds. On taking a break from Telugu movies, she says “I was doing special songs in Telugu films, so it is not a comeback,” She slams labelling of songs as item numbers. “If a top B-town actress does a song it is called special song, when we do it down south, it is degraded as an item song, which is truly unfair,” she laments. However, she doesn’t bother about such things. “I danced with stars like Chiru and Pawan and they turned out to be chartbusters. I have been called ‘rathalu’ even today. Until I have fans who like to see me in glam-centric songs, I’ll keep doing it. ” she signs off. – BVS
