Irate students break windowpanes

Vizianagaram: Samaikyandhra agitation entered the 43rd day on Wednesday. Congress party leaders expressed their resentment by walking backwards by holding ‘Jai Samaikyandhra’ placards. In this context they said that the State should be united. Otherwise both the regions will stand to lose.

Congress elders should come forward to fulfil the opinion of majority of the people in the whole State, they pointed out. At least after seeing the agitation in Seemandhra the Congress elders should make a statement on Samaikyandhra, they said.

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders performed Vanta Varpu programme at Kataveedhi and Kaspaveedhi. Any government that takes a decision against the interests of the people will be taught a lesson, they said. The other parties are making attempts to blame the TDP for the division of the State, they said.

Students threw stones at Botcha’s camp office at Garividi. The students took out a rally up to Botcha’s office and raised slogans against him. The windowpanes in the office were broken in the attack. Meanwhile, the agitators organised programmes in favour of Samaikyandhra all over the district.

In Parvathipuram they sat in the water drum and expressed their protest. Teachers performed Vanta Varpu in Parvathipuram division. Students demonstrated in protests. They organised rasta roko in Kurupam and Peddamarangi. They formed human chains in Parvathipuram, Jiyamavalasa and Jiyalpuram. In Bobbili, jute workers boycotted works and staged rasta roko. Auto drivers organised rally in their autos. In Ramabhadrapuram Junction they organised Vanta Varpu programme.

YSRC leaders expressed their protest through cultural programmes in Gajapatinagaram. Students took out a huge rally in S Kota, L Kota, Kothavalasa, Vepada and Jami. Rickshaw workers took out a rally at Cheepurupalli and Garividi.
