Fly ash problem haunts Dubbapalli villagers

It may be noted here that villagers have been pleading with the authorities to resettle them in view of fly ash spewed out into their village polluting the ecosystem and affecting their health.

Chelpur: The women belonging to Dubbapalli village staged a protest in front of Kakatiya Thermal Power Project (KTPP) here on Monday, demanding stoppage of production or resettle them at an alternative site.

It may be noted here that villagers have been pleading with the authorities to resettle them in view of fly ash spewed out into their village polluting the ecosystem and affecting their health.

The women called off their protest after the Joint Collector, D Amay Kumar, assured them of taking the issue to the notice of higher officials. Telugu Desam Party Bhupalpalli district president Gandra Satyanarayana Rao, who met the protestors, extended his support to their long-pending cause.
