She held a meeting with the officials of water supply, revenue and agricultural departments at Decent Kalyana Mandapam here on Monday.Speaking on the occasion, the Collector stated the good governance of a country and a State will depend on the water supply for irrigation and drinking purposes in that country and the State.
Peddapalli: District Collector Dr Alugu Varshini said prefect steps were being taken to supply irrigation water to each and every acre of land in the district.
She held a meeting with the officials of water supply, revenue and agricultural departments at Decent Kalyana Mandapam here on Monday.Speaking on the occasion, the Collector stated the good governance of a country and a State will depend on the water supply for irrigation and drinking purposes in that country and the State.
‘Water will be released for irrigation purpose for the coming Rabi season within 10-15 days to the district through D-83 and D-86 main canals.
The officials must prepare a perfect report accordingly about the quantity of water to be released to each canal and how to keep check on water misusage and the steps to be taken for preventing wastage of water.’
The collector ordered the officials not to allow people to use illegal motors during water release in first and second phases and asked to take stringent actions on those who argue with the officials.
She also ordered the officials not to lift the gates for releasing of water until they receives phone call from the Additional Engineer concerned.
The officials were also directed to give identity cards to VROs and VRAs by allotting them to places other than they reside and they should be provided basic amenities like torch light, cap, umbrella and other for discharging their duties perfectly.
She asked the VROs and VRSs to bring to her notice if they face any problems while discharging their duties in the villages for taking immediate actions to solve them.
An emergency call centre, which works for 24x7 hours will be established under the supervision of Additional Engineer for receiving calls on problems and to concentrate on problematic places.
Joint Collector S Prabhakar Reddy, SRSP Superintending Engineer Satish Kumar, RDOs Ashok Kumar, Srinivas, ASP Malla Reddy, district Agricultural Officer Thirumal Prasad and Tahsildars were present along with other officials.
