​Jagtial:The health officials, if negligent while discharging their duties, will be suspended, warned District Collector Dr A Sharath in a meeting with health officials at the Collectorate conference hall here on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector directed the officials to take necessary measures for conducting 60 per cent of deliveries in government hospitals along with taking steps for 100 per cent registrations of pregnant women.

He ordered the District Health and Medical Officer to suspend children doctor Dr Shashikanth, who neglected his duty and was responsible for the death of a newborn baby in the area hospital.

They were also told to issue a charge memo to the health officials of Maliala and New Ambaripet, for not attending the meeting. Children doctor Dr Bheemesha was appointed for government hospital and a doctor from Nilofer hospital had been appointed for the Raikal Hospital.

By going to each and every house in a village, ANMs must take the signature from at least 10 members of the village, mentioning the details of the work they did in that village, the Collector explained.

He ordered the health officials to conduct mini-health camps in every mandal along with maintaining a detailed report of how many deliveries had taken in each mandal along with how many types of vaccinations are given.

DM&HO Dr Sugandini and Deputy District Medical and Health Officer Dr Jaipal Reddy were present along with other health officials.
