According to Police Commissioner V B Kamalasan Reddy, the accused was identified as Kukkala Navin Kumar, resident of Hamalibasti of Secunderabad.

Karimnagar: Choppadandi police nabbed a thief, involved in a theft case at his relatives house and recovered gold and silver items worth Rs 1.25 lakhs along with Rs 5.6 lakhs cash from him in Choppadandi on Monday.

According to Police Commissioner V B Kamalasan Reddy, the accused was identified as Kukkala Navin Kumar, resident of Hamalibasti of Secunderabad.

Navin use to visit his relative Dobbala Suguna’s house regularly at Arnakonda village in Choppdandi mandal. He was in dire need of money to repay his debts.

He came to know that Suguna kept her money (about Rs 10.97 lakhs) in an iron box, Navin robbed it two months ago and fled from there.

Suguna came to know that her money in the iron box was missing on December 9 and immediately registered a complaint with police.
After a thorough enquiry police found out that Navin Kumar, who frequents Suguna’s house, had purchased two new vehicles recently.

Acting over a tip off, police nabbed Navin in Arnakonda on Monday, who accepted of stealing Suguna’s money from the box. Police Commissioner Kamalsan Reddy appreciated Choppadandi Circle Inspector T Lakshmi Babu, SI Chandrashekar, Head Constable Ram Mohan Reddy, Constables Rajashekar, Srinivas and declared rewards for them.

Additional Commissioner of Police T Annapurna and Assistant commissioner of Police J Rama Rao were present along with other police officials.
