The NPDCL has launched android-based mobile app ‘TSNPDCL App’ for the convenience of its consumers. The Company Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Annamaneni Gopal Rao launched the mobile app at a programme at Vidyuth Bhavan in Hanamkonda on Friday.
Hanamkonda: Northern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (TSNPDCL) has taken a leap forward in promoting digitalisation of services and encouraging cash less payments.
The NPDCL has launched android-based mobile app ‘TSNPDCL App’ for the convenience of its consumers. The Company Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Annamaneni Gopal Rao launched the mobile app at a programme at Vidyuth Bhavan in Hanamkonda on Friday.
The App (Version 1.0) is developed by the TSNPDCL information technology (IT) wing.Explaining the features of the app the CMD said, it enables customers to handle various aspects of their electricity connection like paying their electricity bills online and many others. The customers can download the app from Google Play Store.
Pay bill option allows consumers using smart phones to pay their electricity bills using internet banking, debit/credit cards. Update mobile and Aadhaar feature enables consumers to update their mobile number and Aadhaar card number with NPDCL consumer data base for SMS based services.
Consumers can view their service bill history and know tariff details. Similarly one can register a complaint related to service issues. The registered complaints will be sent to the NPDCL 24x7 call centre and consumers can know the complaint status, Gopal Rao explained.
The app also provides energy saving tips and safety tips creating awareness among consumers about electrical safety and aids in reducing the electrical accidents. It also enables the consumers to reach TSNPDCL on toll free numbers.
Report an Incident feature enables the citizens to report an electrical incident like pole damage, conductor snap, sparking on electrical assets, transformer burning. Citizens can take a photograph of the incident location along with location GPS coordinates and sends it to central server, he added.
The application shows the incident location on the Google earth map and 24x7 NPDCL call centre operator monitoring calls routes it to concerned AE/Operation. Then server sends the incident photograph and citizen contact number to AE/Op enabling faster handling of the issue.
Directors B Venkateshwar Rao (Projects), B Narsinga Rao (Operation), chief general managers P Sandhya Rani, V Mohan Rao, B Ashok Kumar and V Thirupathi Reddy and DE (IT) Srinivas were present at the app launch programme.
