Karimnagar: Better medical facilities were being provided at the government main hospital and there was no need for the people to go to Warangal and other far off places for better treatment, said Finance Minister Eatala Rajendar.

He inaugurated a new programme ‘changing bed sheets every day in government hospitals’, introduced by the government, at the government main hospital in Karimnagar on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Finance Minister said that Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy will inaugurate the newly constructed ‘Mother and Child Health Care Centre’ at a cost of Rs 17 crores on the premises of the government hospital along with Primary Health Centres at Gumullapur, Chamanpalli and Kamalapur mandals on May 16.

Rajender ordered the officials to make all necessary arrangements required with medical equipments in the Mother and Child Health Care Centre before its inauguration along with establishing Central Oxygen System and appointing medical staff required.

The Minister interacted with the patients in the government main hospital and inspected the ICU, Arogya Sri health card ward, children ward, and RO plant.

He suggested the Hospital Chairman and ZP Chairperson Tula Uma to repair minor damages that were seen in the hospital along with maintaining the hospital premises clean and tidy planting the saplings in open places.

District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed informed that about Rs 1.6 crores of funds would be allotted from the ‘Crucial Balance funds’ to provide basic facilities along with 15 air conditioners and 30 air coolers in the Mother and Child Health Care Centre.
