Officials told to prepare action plan for Bathukamma sarees distribution in Jagtial

Jagtial: The officials of various departments were ordered to distribute Bathukamma sarees from September 18, without any irregularities.

District Collector Dr A Sharath inspected the Bathukamma sarees stored in the godowns of agricultural market committee at Koratla in Jagtial on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Sharath ordered the officials to prepare a perfect action plan along with taking necessary steps for transporting of the sarees from the godown to all villages across the district.

Later, he chaired a review meeting with the officials of the department concerned to discuss the distribution of the sarees at Koratla municipal office.

The Collector said that about 3.45 lakh Bathukamma sarees were allotted for the district for distribution on the occasion of Bathukamma festival to all the women, who have white ration card and crossed 18 years. The list of beneficiaries was already prepared and was sent to the officials concerned.

He advised the staff to distribute the sarees to the beneficiaries by preparing slips in the name beneficiaries.

The Collector ordered the officials to establish extra centers in addition to the already identified 16 centers for saree distribution under Koratla municipal limits. He also told to open a saree counter in every ration shop by giving information to the people.

The officials and the staff, who were deployed for the distribution of the sarees must report on September 17 and start distribution from September 18 from 7 am, the Collector ordered.

Koratla Municipal Commissioner A Vani, DRDA Assistant Project Director Varada Sundar Rajan, MPDO Santhosh and Tahsildar Satyanarayana were present along with others.
