Peddapalli: Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Sharma announced that his department would fill up the 26,000 vacant posts soon.

Speaking to the media after inaugurating the One-Town Police Station building worth Rs.4.5 crore at Godavarikhani here on Wednesday, Anurag Sharma said that the department was taking steps to see that there should be 33 percent of women police in every police station.

The Police department was striving for peaceful environment across the State after the formation of Telangana State, he added. The DGP said new buildings would be constructed in place of dilapidated police station buildings.

The Police department has set up friendly policing to see that there should not be fear among the people while seeing police. Police Housing Corporation Chairman Damodar, TSRTC Chairman Somarapu Satyanarayana, MLCs Naradasu Laxman Rao and Bhanu Prasad were present.
