Karimnagar: It is the responsibility of everyone living in the society to extend a helping hand to the orphans and needy people, urged Commissioner of Police V B Kamalasan Reddy here on Wednesday.

Inaugurating the ‘Tour programme’ organised for about 23 members of orphans (children) who were taking shelter in various orphanage homes run under voluntary organisations in the town, he said that the police department would always extend its helping hand for ensuing a bright future of the orphans.

He said that the children should set up targets and work hard to scale new heights in their life with full confidence. He interacted with them and created awareness among them about the various types of weapons and the technology the police officials use under different circumstances.

The tour programme is organised on the occasion of World Tourism Day to make the children of orphanage homes aware of various types of monuments, historical constructions and temples to increase spirituality among them.

As part of the tour programme, the children are going to visit Ujwala Park, Deer Park, Manair Reservoir Boating, Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple of Vemulawada and Yelugandula Fort.District Tourism Officer Venkateshwar Rao, Reserve Inspector of Police Gangadhar and the National Award Winner A Kiran Kumar were present along with others.
