Karimnagar: A training programme will be organised for all the journalists of united Karimnagar district on October 14 and 15 at the Collectorate auditorium, informed Press Academy Chairman Allam Narayana here on Friday.

Speaking to the media at R&B guest house here on Friday, Allam Narayana said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao gave permission for conducting training programmes for journalists of the 10 united districts in April along with sanctioning funds for arranging the classes.

As part of that, training programmes have been conducted in Rangareddy, Mahabubnagar, Khammam and Warangal districts till date. In Rangareddy, as many as 600 scribes had attended classes and 800 in Mahabubnagar, 700 in Khammam and 1,600 in Warangal attended the training classes, he informed.

In the united Karimnagar district, training classes will be organised on October 14 and 15. All the journalists present in the district must utilise this opportunity and must cooperate to make the programme a grand success, he urged. Narayana said that the Press Academy has been striving hard for the welfare of the journalists.

The Telangana State government sanctioned about Rs 60 crores funds for the welfare of the journalists and their families. The academy is exerting pressure on the government to increase the funds to about Rs 100 crores, he stated.

Rs one lakh financial aid from Journalist Welfare Fund was provided to about 101 journalists, who were expired while discharging their duties along with sanctioning Accreditation cards to more than 16,000 scribes present in the State, he pointed.

The academy is also working towards sanctioning housing plots and health cards to all the journalists present across the State, Narayana assured.
