Internal bickering in the ruling TRS has once again came to the fore with Warangal East MLA K Surekha finding fault with the party leader E Pradeep Rao’s claims on getting ticket to contest in the next elections from the constituency.
Warangal: Internal bickering in the ruling TRS has once again came to the fore with Warangal East MLA K Surekha finding fault with the party leader E Pradeep Rao’s claims on getting ticket to contest in the next elections from the constituency.
Even as there is more than a year left for the next elections to take place, the leaders in the constituency jumped into war mode in the race for the ticket. The MLA, who is said to be annoyed at Pradeep Rao’s claims, gone against him openly and hit at him during a public meeting in Warangal on Wednesday.
Pradeep Rao, who joined the TRS after he lost elections in 2009 from Warangal East on Praja Rajyam Party ticket, has been working independently in the constituency, building up his own clout ignoring the sitting MLA.
This said to have irked the MLA Surekha and her husband MLC Konda Muralidhar Rao. Surekha, while appealing the youth not to trust the campaign by her rival on his candidature, said the Errabelli family is known for damaging the party in which they are. ‘For the past three decades the family has been trying to malign us politically, but we kept on rising,’ she said.
“When in TDP Errabelli Dayakar Rao could do nothing to us even during TDP’s nine-year rule, what could his brother Pradeep Rao possibly do now?” she posed while asserting that she would win with 50, 000 majority in 2019 elections from the constituency.
Nonetheless, Pradeep Rao remained equally assertive on his right to claim TRS ticket to contest from the constituency. ‘I joined the party before my brother Dayakar Rao’s joining. I am working to strengthen the party and going door to door explaining government welfare measures’
“I am not a rowdy. I have every right to aspire for the ticket. And I trust in the party chief and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s leadership and his judgment. None have the business to tell me not to compete for the ticket. The party would decide the candidate,” Pradeep Rao told The Hans India.
‘If at all I happen to contest in next elections, it would be on the TRS ticket,’ he declared adding ‘but I am not saying I am the only candidate. There might be others aspiring for the ticket as well,’ with reference to Konda couple’s comments.
While MLA Dayakar Rao said the party high command would take care of the issue, MLA Surekha complained that Pradeep Rao has been trying to create confusion among the TRS workers in the constituency with his actions. “We trust in KCR’s leadership and we enjoy public support in the constituency,” she added.
