Koluvulakai Kotlata: Kodanda alleges violation of Article 19
The State government is violating the provisions of Article 19 of Indian Constitution by denying permission to TJAC to conduct ‘Koluvulakai Kotlata’ public meeting, alleged the JAC chairman M Kodandaram.

By rejecting permission for the meeting to be held in Hyderabad on October 31, the government is contravening the right to freedom of speech and expression and to assemble peaceably granted to all citizens by the constitutional article, he said speaking to presspersons in Hanamkonda on Thursday.
Following the denial from the government, the JAC is compelled to go to court, Kodandaram said hoping that High Court which posted the hearing of the case to next Monday would grant permission to conduct the meeting.
It is wrong to reject permission on the pretext of law and order problems though the JAC gave assurance to organise the meeting in a peaceful manner. If the government sees law and order problem if the meeting is held at Nizam College grounds, it could permit us at grounds available at LB Nagar-Uppal area or at Sports Authority grounds at Saroornagar in the city, he added.
The State is not able to give a sound reason for denying permission. The reasons given by the government are akin to the reasons the rulers in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh used to give whenever permission was sought to conduct meetings and rallies in support of separate Telangana, he lamented.
While asking students and youth to get ready for the Hyderabad meeting, Kodandaram said extensive campaign in support of the meeting in all the districts is being conducted. There is a good response for the campaign.
Responding to a question, Kodandaram said the government by targeting the JAC is in fact targeting the public for whose rights the JAC is fighting. ‘The problem of unemployment is like a dormant volcano. We are sitting on it and none knows when it would explode,’ he noted.
On the day he held a meeting with local JAC leaders and discussed arrangements being for Hyderabad meeting. ‘If the court gives permission in the morning we should be ready to conduct the meeting in the same evening,’ he told them.
