Hanamkonda: Demanding the State government to fill all the vacant posts, the functionaries of Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) has on Friday submitted a memorandum to the Warangal Urban District Collector Amrapali Kata.
The JAC leaders led by Urban district chairman Chilla Rajendra Prasad met the Collector and urged her to take their demands to the notice of the State government.
Explaining the intensity of the unemployment, the leaders said that majority of youth in Telangana are jobless. The earnings of those, who are working are just enough to make ends meet.
“Around 14 lakh unemployed youths got their names registered with the TSPSC. This shows the seriousness of the unemployment. There is an imperative need to address this problem,” Rajendra Prasad said, referring to the suicide deaths of jobless youths.
Alleging that there was an effort to throttle the voice of TJAC by not granting permission to meetings, the leaders threatened the government to mend its ways or face wrath of the people.
The TJAC demands also included release of an employment calendar, jobs for locals in industries, repeal of outsourcing method, equal to pay to equal work and proactive measures to increase employment opportunities besides providing unemployment allowance.
TJAC State co-convener Botla Bikshapathy, Advocate JAC convener R Narsiga Rao, Chepyala Prabhakar, A Vidya Sagar, K Ashok Reddy and Ch Sravan Kumar were among others, who met the Collector.
