The Sirpur T police on Friday arrested 14 inter-State robbers and recovered Rs 16.30 lakh in cash and two vehicles from them. Asifabad: The Sirpur T police on Friday arrested 14 inter-State robbers and recovered Rs 16.30 lakh in cash and two vehicles from them. They were involved in the looting of Rajarajeswar Rice Mill in Josini village of Sirpur T Kagaznagar mandal of Kumaram Bheem Asifabad district on the midnight of November 6, Superintendent of Police Sunpreet Singh told press persons here.

He said the gang belonging to West Bengal had looted the mill. Sirpur T police had nabbed them after intercepting the vehicles they were escaping in. The SP stated that during the investigation several interesting happenings had come to light like Kishan of Kagaznagar forming an inter-State gang, which had committed the offence.

After devising a pucca plan for robbing the mill, Kishan gave information to a gang from West Bengal, which committed the offence. Not to get caught, the gang had used two vehicles with the Union Home Ministry markings and sported the Rapid Action Force uniform.

The SP said two luxury cars, knives, three bikes, several cell phones, besides the RAF uniform were seized from the gang. The investigation revealed that the gang was involved in several robberies and thefts. As many as 19 cases were registered against them, mainly claiming to change spurious gold into real one. The SP praised the work of Sirpur T SI Praveen and his staff in nabbing the gang.
