Increase institutional deliveries: Collector

Jagtial: Take necessary steps for conducting institutional deliveries in government hospitals, ordered District Collector Dr A Sharath while inspecting the Community Health Centre at Dharmapuri mandal headquarters in Jagtial on Monday.

After observing unhygienic conditions in the hospital premises, he warned Dr Vinay Kumar and ordered him to take immediate measures for cleaning the surroundings and to maintain the surroundings clean and tidy. He said pleasant atmosphere should be provided for the patients visiting the hospital.

He observed the 104 emergency vehicle, which was not in working condition on the hospital premises and ordered the DM &HO to get it repaired immediately. The DM&HO was also told to prepare a schedule of the visits of the vehicle to the surrounding villages.

The Collector ordered ANMs and ASHA workers to motivate poor women into visiting the government hospitals by explaining the expenditure they would incur if they go to a private hospital. Also, the patients should be explained about KCR Kits and other facilities that would be provided in government hospitals.

Sharath enquired ANMs and ASHA workers about the details of pregnant women they have collected from the surrounding villages and about their health condition. They were ordered to suggest nutritious and balanced diet to the pregnant women, who were weak and undernourished.

The Collector warned the health officials of the hospital that stringent action will be taken against them if they fail to conduct 70 per cent of deliveries in the hospital.

Rural Development Officer G Narendar, Tahsildar Naveen Kumar, Chairman of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple Srikanth Reddy and Village Sarpanch Sattamma were present along with others.
