Karimnagar: Stating that balloon flights launched for scientific experiments were likely to fall anywhere in the district, Karimnagar District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmad said that there is nothing to panic or worry about them.

In a statement released on Thursday, the collector said that there is a possibility of balloons, made of Polyethylene, launched by the Department of Atomic Energy and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) from Visakhapatnam, Solapur (Maharashtra) and Hyderabad for conducting scientific experiments landing anywhere in the district.

Heasked the people not to worry or to panic after noticing them. “Beginning with the third week of this month to April next year, the balloons may fall anytime. The likely timingof balloons fall is between 8 pm and 6.30 am,” the collector said. He urged the people to contact the nearest police station or post office or any government authority if they notice balloons coming down on large coloured parachutes.
