Bhupalpally: The District Collector, A Murali, on Tuesday inspected the ongoing works for biannual Medaram Sammakka Saralamma Jatara scheduled to be held from January 31 to February 3, 2018.

He visited Chilakalagutta, bathing ghats on the banks of Jampannavagu, the road works and inspected modern toilets to be used during the jatara. He enquired about the works so far executed and told officials to speed up the works since the jatara time was fast approaching.

At Chilakalagutta, he inspected the fencing works and asked the officials to take care to avoid any inconvenience to the devotees. The Collector directed the rural water supply department to provide hand pumps and water tankers to address drinking water needs of the devotees and to check of the functioning of battery of taps at bathing ghats.

Murali also directed the roads and buildings department officials to complete the patch works on all the roads leading towards Medaram village as soon as possible. On finding water from nearby streams stagnated at some places on the roads, he told the officials to clear water for smooth passage of vehicles. Sub-Collector PV Gautam and others accompanied the Collector.
