Luxettipet: One will admit that the tall claims of the TRS government of striving hard to develop Grandhalaya Samsthas across the State, if they observe the pitiable condition of the branch library in Luxettipet. The town’s library, once the storehouse of knowledge, is lying neglected and it is virtually on the verge of collapse, as no steps were taken to save it.

People, although scared a lot, still visit the library despite its near-dilapidated condition. They have to put up with filth and trash on the premises and its surroundings.

Besides the building has been attracting anti-social elements to use if for their nefarious activities. A liquor shop nearby is only giving a boost to them. The readers are worried over the state of affairs of the library, which of late became a centre for gamblers during nights.

Without anyone to pay attention to develop the library and its premises, land grabbers took the chance and already got hold of about two guntas of the precious land.

With such unhappy state of affairs, the library is all set to join the list of those structures, which are either disappearing or already collapsed. Local residents were concerned the library will collapse if no immediate steps are taken to restore the library.

Students Ranjith and Santosh told The Hans India that this is the only library they had and urged the government to restore it.
