BC body seeks 50 pc quota in legislative bodies

Nalgonda: Stating that Backward Classes in the State were not registering much growth, the BC Sankshema Sangam national president and MLA R Krishnaiah demanded 50 per cent reservation for BCs in legislative bodies.

Addressing the students during Porubata meeting, which was organised by BC Vidyarthi Sangam in Nalgonda on Wednesday, the MLA expressed his concern over the pitiable living conditions of people belonging to Backward Classes.

He further informed that, in this regard, he along with other BC leaders had made several recommendations including BC sub-plan, political reservations, reservations in promotions to BC employees, reservations to BCs in private sector, complete fee reimbursement, scholarships for students, establishing BC study circles in all constituencies and skill development centres for the
betterment of BCs.
