Warangal: North American Telugu Association (NATA) has organised NATA Seva Days with the theme ‘Bhavi Bhavitha Yuvatha’ here on Thursday. Seminars, scholarship distribution, and cultural evenings, a walkathon from Thousand Pillar temple to Kakatiya Medical College (KMC) was held for creating awareness on drug, alcohol abuse and drunken driving was conducted.

Commissioner of Police G Sudheer Babu flagged off the walkathon and urged the youth to stay away from drug abuse and liquor consumption.

Drugs destroy one’s life and leave their families devastated while drunken driving cripples the vehicle riders as well as innocent commuters on the roads. He appreciated the NATA for conducting the awareness programme on the issue.

Later on the day, seminars on topics such as women’s empowerment, road safety and drunken driving, drug abuse prevention approaches, strategies and solutions, student uplift in globalization era and others were held at KMC’s NRI auditorium. Meritorious students were given cash prizes.

NATA president G Rajeshwar Reddy, its founding-secretary Pradeep Samala and others said the Seva Days was conducted aiming to transform youth and help them grow in life.

Cinema actor Ali, former chief justice of High Court V Eashwaraiah and Prohibition and Excise Director Akun Sabharwal attended the event.
