Karimnagar: All basic facilities would be provided to the students and steps would be taken to strengthen the government schools across the State in the next 2018-19 academic year to increase the students’ strength, assured Finance Minister Eatala Rajender.

He chaired a review meeting with the headmasters of government schools of Karimnagar, Peddapalli and Jagtial to discuss the basic facilities that were required, maintaining of educational standards and getting 100 per cent results in SSC examinations and also increasing the strength, here on Thursday.

The Minister ordered the headmasters to bring to his notice about the problems, which the students were facing within the schools and their requirements for better functioning of the schools, so that the higher authorities can solve them immediately.

Rajender assured to arrange tap connections in all schools through water grid for 24-hour water supply and constructing overhead tanks in schools. Furniture and dual desks will be supplied to all schools in the next academic year. Compound wall will be constructed, gates will be arranged and fans will be fixed in every class room.

Attenders will be appointed for each school to water and protect the saplings that were planted in the school premises as part of Haritha Haram programme. Transport facility will be provided for the students coming from far off places and the RTC officials will be directed to run RTC buses according to the school timings for the convenience of the students.

The government has allocated about 20 per cent of budget to education sector. The money that is paid to the agencies will be increased, who are implementing mid-day meals scheme in schools. The teachers must provide quality education to the students for placing the united Karimnagar district on top position in SSC results, the Minister suggested.

ZP Chairperson Tula Uma, Government Whip P Sudhakar Reddy, Cultural Department Chairman Rasamai Balakishan, IDC Chairman Eda Shankar Reddy, MLC Naradasu Lakshman Rao, MLA Bodiga Shoba, District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed, DEOs Venkateshwarlu (Karimnagar ), and Venkateshwar Rao (Peddapalli), Diet Principal Anandam, Libraries Department Chairman A Ravinder Reddy (Karimnagar) and Raghuveer Singh (Peddapalli) were present along with others.
