Jangaon: The Jangaon police on Thursday arrested three persons for exchanging fake currency notes. Based on a complaint lodged by a bangle store owner on December 28, 2017, the police formed a special team to nab the gang. According to shop owner's complaint, a woman, who purchased some items in his shop, gave him a Rs 2,000 note, which he found fake later.

The police, who verified the CCTV camera footage near the store, found some clues, following which they arrested Bejawada Rajeev (30) of Miryalaguda, Md Chandini (39) and Md Shafi (19) of Thorrur. Currently all the accused are living in Vinayaka Nagar of Hanamkonda.

The police seized fake currency notes worth Rs 1.12 lakh in the denomination of Rs 2,000, two cars, printer and other equipment from the accused. The police also found Rs 1.30 lakh in the bank account of Chandini.
