Conducting a review meeting here on Thursday, she directed the officials to list out the hamlets that have a population of 500 or more and located within the radius of 1.5 km to 2 km from existing gram panchayat headquarters.

Amrapali also sought the details of survey numbers of land between the existing gram panchayats and the proposed new panchayats along with Google map coordinates.

“Before finalising the new panchayats, the officials need to take the suggestions of the local bodies and people’s representatives,” she said. Based on the distance and population, the government will take a final call on formation of new panchayats, she added.

Urban and Rural Joint-Collectors Dayanand and M Haritha, DROs Shobha and Hari Singh were among other officials present.
