Leaders, who garlanded the statue of NTR near Public Garden, said that he strived for the uplift of weaker sections and granted a right in property to women.

Speaking on the occasion, the TDP politburo member Revuri Prakash Reddy said that NTR, who rode to power within nine months of establishing the party, upheld the self-respect of Telugu-speaking people Legendary Telugu actor NT Rama Rao, popularly known as NTR, launched the Telugu Desam Party in 1982 on the plank of self-respect of Telugu people and created history by storming to power in just nine months of TDPs foundation. He said that NTR was instrumental in introducing many revolutionary programmes in the State and they were duly followed by his successors.

Urban district president Eega Mallesham, Rural district president Gannoju Srinivasachary, State secretary Pullur Ashok Kumar, TNSF State vice-president Jatoth Santhosh Naik, SC Cell president Hanmakonda Sambaiah, D Mallaiah, Margam Sarangam, Thallapally Jayapal, Gollapally Eeshwarachary, Md Raheem, Veera Swamy, Kusuma Shyam, Manohar, Jayashankar, Nagaraju and Burri Cheralu were among others present.
