Curtains have gone up for yet another political drama, the TPCC vice-president and former MP Ponnam Prabhakar said, pointing out the TRS Parliament members’ deliberate disruption of the House proceedings so that the no-confidence motion moved by the YSRC and Telugu Desam against the BJP-led NDA government will not be taken up by the Speaker.
Karimnagar: Curtains have gone up for yet another political drama, the TPCC vice-president and former MP Ponnam Prabhakar said, pointing out the TRS Parliament members’ deliberate disruption of the House proceedings so that the no-confidence motion moved by the YSRC and Telugu Desam against the BJP-led NDA government will not be taken up by the Speaker.
Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday, he found fault with the TRS MPs for not supporting the cause of neighbouring State Andhra Pradesh, which has been demanding the Centre for implementation of the provisions of the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014.
“A few weeks ago, Nizamabad TRS MP K Kavitha supported the cause of AP and even went on to say, ‘Jai Andhra’. Then she didn’t speak about the injustice being done to Telangana. Today, the TRS MPs say that they have nothing to do with their AP counterparts’ no-confidence motion,” Prabhakar said, alleging that the TRS was trying to protect the Centre in the guise of demanding an increase in the quota of Muslim reservations in Telangana.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who said that he will not seek vote from people if he fails to implement Mission Bhagiratha, should follow the same principle in case of Muslim reservations also, Prabhakar said. He said that ruckus created by the TRS in the Parliament is to save the BJP.
Why the TRS, which supported the ruling BJP in elections to President and Vice-President besides supporting demonetisation and GST, is not exerting pressure on the Centre in regard with the implementation of promises made to the Telangana State in the AP Reorganisation Act, Prabhakar questioned. He found fault with the TRS government for suspending Congress MLAs en masse.
Referring to the Sircilla Municipal Chairperson Samala Pavani’s alleged remarks on commissions in civic body works, Prabhakar demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao must to remove his son and MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao from the Cabinet. He said that Pavani was made scapegoat. It may be mentioned here that Pavani resigned from her post.
Congress city president Karra Rajasekhar, municipal floor leader Akula Prakash, TPCC spokesperson Regulapati Ramya Rao and DCC spokesperson Ontela Ratnakar were among others present.
