​Karimnagar: As many as 11 villages will be merged in Karimnagar town, according to the newly introduced Municipality Amendment Bill in the Assembly. Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao, on behalf of IT and Municipal Minister KT Rama Rao, had introduced Municipality Amendment Bill in the Assembly on Wednesday.

The discussion about the bill will be held in the Assembly on Thursday (March 29). As per the bill, total 136 villages are going to be merged in about 41 Municipalities present across the State. It is to be noted that the government already proposed amendment act for the formation of about 71 new Municipalities with merging of as many as 173 villages in them earlier.

According to the newly proposed bill, about 11 villages - Vallampadu, Arepalli, Thilagaguttapalli, Bommakal, Sitharampur, Padmanagar, Malkapur, Rekurthi, Chintakunta, Alugunur and Sadasivapalli - are going to merged in Karimnagar Municipal Corporation.
