Luxettipet: Club Road Government Primary School strength reduced to 13 in 2013 Now the school has a total of 109 students. Thanks to the Headmaster and the teaching staff, who made the Government Primary School at Club Road to come alive, which was on the verge of closure. Lack of basic facilities, insufficient staff and other reasons has reduced the students’ strength of classes from first to fifth to 13 by 2013.

At this point, headmaster Ramprasad and teachers took the initiation to increase the students’ strength. The construction of additional classrooms with Rs 6.50 lakhs in 2014 turned a boon to the school. And the introduction of English medium in 2017 has slowly increased the students’ strength to 109.

Parents are readily admitted their children to the government school after learning about the quality of education being provided by the school and sending their wards in autos, not afraid of the travelling expenses.

Following the principle that “A picture is worth a thousand words”, the staff and headmaster have painted letters, words, proverbs, poems etc on the walls for the easy understanding by the students. The various parts of the human body and their names were also painted on the walls.

Speaking with The Hans India, headmaster Ramprasad said that they looked into the reasons for the school on the verge of closure with only 13 students. After taking the parents’ suggestion of introducing English medium in the school, we prepared an action plan to provide basic facilities in the school.

“We gained the parents’ trust by taking special interest on their wards”At present, LKG, UKG, first and second classes in English medium and third, fourth and fifth classes in Telugu medium. The Headmaster said that they are taking steps to double the students’ strength in next academic year.
