Jagitial: The District Collector A Sharath directed officials of department concerned to supervise the construction works of double bedroom houses (2BHK) for every 15 days and prepare an action plan for completing the works in prescribed time limit before to Vijayadashami.

The Collector held a review meeting on the progress of construction works of double bedroom houses with the officials concerned here at Collectorate conference hall in Jagitial on Friday. Speaking at the meeting, the District Collector A Sharath said that out of the sanctioned 9,030 double bedroom houses, the permission was given to about 6,958 houses for construction.

In the first phase, out of 1,400 double bedroom houses that are allotted, the construction works of about 925 houses under Panchayat Raj department, about 135 houses under Water supply department, about 220 houses under Roads and Buildings department, about 120 houses under SRSP department are under progress.

The construction works should be done by forming committees with the beneficiaries in about 25 villages where the contractors are not willing to come forward, said the Collector.There is no problem of funds. Advance cheques will be issued for those contractors who come forward to take up the construction works of double bedroom houses, assured the Collector.

The A Sharath directed officials not to compromise in maintaining the quality of works. With the coordination of all departments the works must be completed before Vijayadashmi with full of commitment.The Executive Engineer of Panchayat Raj department Manohar Reddy, District Water Supply Officer Narayana Reddy, Executive Engineer of SRSP Rajeshwar and Divisional Engineers were present.
