trsWarangal: Telangana Rashtra Samithi floor leader in the state Assembly Etela Rajender has demanded the State Government to immediately address the issues related to rice millers. The TRS leader has expressed solidarity to the agitation by Warangal District Rice Millers Welfare Association whose members were on a relay-hunger strike for the past three days. Rajender addressing the rice millers has sought the State Government to provide subsidized power supply to rice mills and to supply round the clock power supply. He took serious exception to the negligent attitude of the State Government for not responding to the demands of the millers even though their protest reached third day on Thursday. The Government which has been providing free power supply and infrastructural support to the IT industry was acting in an indifferent manner towards the rice millers, he averred. The TRS floor leader also objected booking cases under section 6 A of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 and demanded the government to desist from booking the cases. The millers association was seeking increase in milling charges and round the clock power supply to the rice mills by exempting them from power cuts and lift the curbs imposed on stocking up fine quality rice. TRS politburo member Peddi Sudharshan Reddy, the association district president Devunuri Anjaiah, leaders Uppula Venkateshwarlu, S Madhavashanker, Sammaiah and others were present.
