Warangal: A woman who attempted suicide by laying herself on the railway tracks near Pothana Junction in Warangal was saved by the traffic cops on Monday. Reacting to the timely help by the cops, Warangal Urban SP A Venkateshwar Rao announced cash rewards to the cops, Head Constable M Linga Reddy and Constable R Sikander for saving the woman.

Traffic cops who were inspecting a dead-body of an unidentified woman near the tracks at Pothana Junction suddenly witnessed a woman laying on railway tracks and talking to someone on the phone as the train was coming nearer.

Alert traffic cops forcefully removed her from the tracks to safety. During the investigation, the woman revealed that she had altercation with her boy friend last night and emotionally depressed over this. She decided to end her life. The lady was later shifted to Mattewada police station for further investigation and counselling.
