wargalWarangal: The leaders of Telangana Gazetted Officers Association have called upon the employees to get ready for yet another general strike on the lines of Sakala Janula Samme for achieving statehood to the region. A resolution in this connection was passed at the executive council meeting of the TGOA here on Saturday. If the UPA government failed to introduce the separate Telangana bill in parliament forthwith; employees should be ready to jump into action. The meeting was attended by association president V Srinivas Goud, general secretary E Srinivasa Rao and district president Paritala Subba Rao and general secretary A Jaganmohan, central committee leaders V Mamatha, B Aruna and secretariat wing leader Rajkumar Gupta and others have attended. Later, addressing press persons the TGOA president V Srinivas Goud alleged that the officers and employees in Telangana were being harassed by top officials belonging to other regions for their participation in Telangana agitation. He maintained that while the employees and officers were making all out efforts and fighting for the cause the political leadership here has failed to work to protect the interests of the people and the employees. The government that has left out Seemandhra officials who were involved in corrupt practices has been harassing those who were working for the aspirations of the people in Telangana. Srinivas Goud said a delegation of government employees would soon visit New Delhi to meet the important political leaders to press for the demand of separate Telangana. The association would work in collaboration with the political JAC in order to pressurize Central government to introduce Telangana bill. A massive public meeting in Hyderabad would soon be organised after which a decision on general strike would be taken. The TGOA's meeting has also passed several resolutions seeking to consider the 42-day strike period as special leave, implementation of latest pay revision commission report, enhance the retirement age to 60 years, issue health cards immediately and introduce five day week work. The association has also wanted state government to immediately withdraw all the cases registered against the officers and employees who took part in Sadak Bandh and other agitations.
