Errabelli flays KCR

Warangal: TDP Telangana Forum convener Errabelli Dayakar Rao has strongly hit at the TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao accusing the latter of exploiting Telangana sentiment for his selfish needs. The culture of receiving money suitcases belongs to Telangana Rashtra Samithi and its chief Chandrasekhar Rao. The TRS president was only interested in making money in the name of statehood agitation, the TDP leader said speaking to press persons here on Monday. Dayakar Rao further challenged the TRS chief to come for an open discussion on the issue. Referring to the row over allocating iron mines in Warangal and Khammam districts to Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP), he said it was the TDP which first fought in favour of the interests of the region highlighting the illegal leasing out of iron ore mines to the kin of late chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy. The TDP chief has also opposed the allocation of mines to private persons and even staged a dharna at Bayyaram. During a meeting at Marripeda as part of Vastunna Meekosam padayatra N Chandrababu Naidu has also demanded the government to set a steel plant at Bayyaram, Dayakar Rao explained. It because of TDP's successful agitations the mines allocation was got cancelled. While the TDP was agitating along with CPI and other Left parties against the allocation of mines to YSR's kin, Chandrasekhar Rao was quiet at that time and never opposed the move or taken part in any agitation, Dayakar Rao said. But the TRS leaders were trying to gain political mileage by playing gimmicks and by highlighting the iron ore diversion issue which was first stalled by the CPI and TDP, he said. The same was the case with Obulapuram mines case. When the TDP was organising protests against the allocation of mining lease to Gali Janardhan Reddy and others, the TRS leaders supported the government's move, Dayakar Rao pointed out. "Then they were busy making money I can prove that" he asserted adding that Chandrasekhar Rao family received Rs 500 crore kickbacks in Polavaram tenders case. He has also quoted other similar instances of TRS receiving money. TRS has also supported the Congress party in the DCCB elections in Telangana districts . Except once, the TRS chief has never staged a protest in the parliament on Telangana issue, he noted.
