Warangal: Heritage festival provided an opportunity to showcase the greatness and rich cultural traditions of Kakatiya dynasty and its capital, Orugallu (Warangal) city, said Urban SP A Venkateshwar Rao.A He addressed briefly after flagging of the 'Heritage Walk' held from 1000-Pillars temple to Padmakshi temple in Hanamkonda on Tuesday.

He inspected adventure sporting activity trekking by youngsters at Padmakshi temple. He appreciated the youth members for their active participation.A Later, Urban SP inaugurated Archery events on the occasion of heritage week celebrations.

During the occasion another guest, Warangal Municipal Commissioner Vivek Yadav exhibited the archery skills and addressed the gathering. A He said that Warangal is a historic city and had rich cultural heritage. He conveyed his congratulations to the citizens of Warangal city on the occasion of heritage week celebrations.

DRDA PD Vijayagopal, Additional commissioner Shankar, INTACH convener Panduranga Rao, DPRO Venkataramana, Tourism Officer Shivaji, Programme Officer Srinivas Rao, Hyderabad based adventure sports organisers, NSS volunteers and others took part in the programme.

Meanwhile, Commissioner Vivek Yadav announced cultural programmes and prize distribution would take place at 1000-Pillars temple at 6.00 pm on Wednesday. The cultural programme includes Chindu Yakshganam by Gaddam Jalandar, Mandeechulu show by Kadem Sammaiah of Narayanapuram village of Venkatapur mandal in the district and classical dances.

The heritage celebrations would continue up to April 18 in Warangal, Hanamkonda and Kazipet.
