Warangal : Senior politician Kadiam Srihari, who jumped into TRS from TDP recently, has called upon all the pro-Telangana leaders in Congress, TDP and YSRCP to quit them and join TRS.

He spoke at the 'Meet the Press' programme organised by the district unit of Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ) here on Tuesday. The leader noted that Congress, Telugu Desam Party and YSR Congress Party were lacking clarity on statehood issue and working against the cause. Hence all those who want separate Telangana should quit those parties and join Telangana Rashtra Samiti which he said has been striving to highlight the Telangana cause since 2001.

Srihari said that he was compelled to move out of TDP because he had undergone 'mental agony' over the fate of Telangana statehood cause and that his conscience was affected. A 'TDP had given me political life, but I felt it is my primary duty to care for the land to which I belong to', Srihari said. In view of the changing priorities of the people, the political parties should also change their priorities. But sadly none of the parties were doing so, in particular the TDP which was acting with double standards on the issue, Kadiam Srihari pointed. "I tried to change the TDP leadership on Telangana issue but failed to do so" he averred.

Upon questioning if he left TDP fearing defeat in 2014 elections, Srihari refuted that he held all the key positions at the party level as well as a minister and was not craving for positions or posts.A APUWJ district president Pinna Siva Kumar, general secretary K Anil Kumar, TRS leaders T Ravinder Rao and Peddi Sudharshan Reddy were present.
