Panchaloha idol unearthed

Warangal: A Panchaloha idol of Goddress Sita was found when a labourer identified as Duvvela Uppalamma was digging the earth as part of the road laying works under MGNREG Scheme at Nagireddypalli village in Bachchannapet mandal in the district on Saturday afternoon. The Panchaloha idol, measuring around 15 inches in height, was later kept at Lord Anjaneya temple in the village. As the news of the idol spread, people from the village and neighbouring villages offered prayers to it by applying vermillion and turmeric. Villagers were excited at the appearance of the idol in their village and hoped the idol would bring them luck and prosperity. A A Former Sarpanch Kishtaiah and field assistant S Kanakaiah and scores of villagers were present at the temple.
