Warangal: The members of Telangana Lecturers' Forum (TLF) have staged a demonstration at the office of the Regional Joint Director (RJD)-Intermediate Education here on Thursday seeking job security.

A large number of lecturers working in private and government colleges and contract lecturers have taken part in the agitation. They alleged that the private colleges in Telangana region were not adhering to the guidelines stipulated by the government in making appointments of lecturers.

The TLF state working president P Srinivas Goud, north Telangana secretary Tirunahari Sheshu, district unit president G Chirajeeva Rao and general secretary B Srinivas, leaders GV Madhav, K Ravi Kiran, A Srinivas, A Yakaiah, Ch Shanker, P Sadanandam, Gangarapu Ramesh and others have taken part in the agitation.

Addressing the gathering, Srinivas Goud, Sheshu and others demanded the RJD to see that lecturers from Telangana be appointed in private colleges in the region. A Steps to ensure job security of the private and contract lecturers should be taken and a minimum wage of Rs 25, 000 salary per month should be fixed along with provident fund benefits, they demanded.

Similarly, the government lecturers should be given service based promotions and the services of contract lecturers should be regularized. The TLF leaders also demanded the government to give some bonus marks to private and contract lecturers in the examinations conducted for junior and degree lecturer posts
