Mulugu (Warangal): Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA Seetakka demanded the State government to grant a special package of Rs 100 crores for the development of agency villages in the district. The package was essential to overcome the emergencies imposed on the agency villages in view of excessive rain fall. Several appeals to the state government in the past in this direction were met with cold response. The government should at least act now and announce the package, she said speaking to press persons here on Friday. She complained that whenever the rain fall exceeds its normal range a huge number of villages were being cut off from outside world. The MLA has on the day toured the flood affected areas in Mulugu and Eturunagaram mandals. She also complained that some villages Kondai, Malyala, Ilapur and Kalvapalli would be cut off even though the rain fall was normal. There has been a demand to build a high level bridge on Dayyalavagu but the government has not cared. An appeal was also made to Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy but no action was taken so far. Wherever the villagers were facing difficulty in crossing the streams, the government should build high level bridges to ensure smooth transportation and prevent loss of life. 'Every year several men and women were being killed while crossing the streams in the agency villages' Seetakka lamented. On the day, irrigation department superintendent engineer Linga Raju, district medical and health officer Dr. P Sambasiva Rao, electricity chief engineer Manohar and ITDA project officer Sarfaraj Ahmed and others have visited Ramannagudem to review the flood situation and monitored rescue operations.
