Students tie Raksha Bandhan to trees

Mahabubabad (Warangal): Raksha Bandan was celebrated with a difference here. A group of students have tied the rakhis to the trees highlighting the protection of environment and trees. The programme called ‘Vriksha Raksha Bandan’ was organised under the aegis of a social service organisation called Disha. The president of Disha V Gurunatha Rao speaking on the occasion, said the programme was aimed at inculcating a sense of caring among the students towards the nature.

He urged the managements and principals of schools and colleges in the district to conduct similar programmes to promote the concept of environmental protection. The students should be encouraged to adopt a tree as part of the programme, they said.
